Goodbye to 2025 open season

Once again its time to say Goodbye and Thank You!!! to ALL our fantastic visitors from near and far …. it really does make the hard work worth it, as we get such lovely comments and encouragement! we say goodbye to the 2025 open season! the Cafe will open again on Saturdays soon, in September ( dates to be confirmed)

This year the weather was very strange ( and I never thought I would ever say this in England) at times it was too HOT!!! having had no rain for 12 weeks, we were actually pleased when it was forecast to rain a little, but THUNDER/ LIGHTENING torrential downpours, road flooding were not very welcome on our days we were having outdoor evening events!! However they were 2 lovely events that we certainly enjoyed, and our visitors did too, and it actually ended up being dry.

The lavender has looked beautiful , the Angustifolia Folgate flowered early and really needed to be harvested 2 weeks earlier than normal, it will be interesting how our oil yield is this year, I suspect it will be down on last year for the Angustifolias ( as much of it has turned already to seed) but fine for the Lavendin Grosso, due to the extreme heat and dry spell we had. Whatever we produce will be used in our lovely products , as usual, but if the quantity is down , you may want to book in a little earlier during our opening times in 2026 to be sure to be able to get the products you like before they sell out!

We are extremely grateful for our wonderful team of workers and volunteers, obviously we could not open the field for everyone to enjoy without their hard work.

We look forward to seeing everyone again for the field opening season in June 2026, and hopefully a visit to the Lavender Cafe, on a Saturday 10 – 4 ,opening again soon in September ( date to be confirmed!)

Big Thank you , Ian and Pippa x
